The second guest speaker that relates to my area of practise is Tom Evans who was a student at LCA before moving on to getting a job in the industry after leaving. One of the most memorable things he said to us when he was presenting was that it took him 5-6 months of bombarding e-mails to companies before he landed his first job so now we understand a little more about what it is going to take to make it. Again a very useful talk from a practitioner and a useful insight into the vast unknown industry for us.
Susan Everett was another guest speaker that came in to talk to us all but she was a little bit more script writer and film maker related than the other two guest speakers. I liked the things she talked about and her personality, she seemed to have a lot of integrity too saying that she didnt sell out for the sake of money and instead did work that she enjoyed doing and not what earned her the most money. That is probably the kind of practitioner that I want to be, doing what I want to do and not working just for the money.
